Wine, Cheese and Seeds

Help us collect seeds from the woolly sunflower (Eriophyllum lanatum) out on the prairie here at Pacific Rim Institute.  This prairie plant is a companion for the threatened golden paintbrush, which was listed as endangered in 1997 and downgraded in WA to threatened in August of 2023.

This event is open to new and returning volunteers. We will be collecting wild seeds, and recommend volunteers bring water bottles, long sleeves, and long pants, with boots or leg gaiters is recommended.  Grass seeds are prevalent on the prairie, and can get into socks and soft shoes. 

Refreshments, including wine, cider, non-alcoholic beverages, and light snacks will be provided at the end of the event.
